• History of ADA

ADA (Cardano) is a decentralized public blockchain and cryptocurrency project. It is a third-generation blockchain platform that is designed to provide scalability, interoperability, and sustainability. It was created by Charles Hoskinson, one of the co-founders of Ethereum, and is developed by the IOHK (Input Output Hong Kong) team. ADA is the native cryptocurrency of the Cardano blockchain and is used to power the network. It was launched in September 2017 and is currently the world’s 10th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The Cardano blockchain is based on a proof-of-stake consensus algorithm called Ouroboros, which is designed to be more energy-efficient than proof-of-work algorithms. The platform is designed to enable the development of smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps).
